Jacob Lusk performed "Dance With My Father" on American Idol, April 20, 2011 which is also Luther Vandross' birthday.
One of the Idol judges, Randy Jackson said emotionally his performance was great, "Vocally it was good but it didn't make me jump up and down."
Vandross who passed away on July 1, 2005 at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Edison, N.J. would have recently celebrated his 60th birthday.
One of the best R&B voices ever...
"Bad Boy (Having a Party)" and "Here and Now" are a couple of my favorite Luther songs. Check out this video of him performing "A House is Not a Home" in 1988. Classic.
