A New Whitney Houston Album Due Out at the End of This Year

Happy birthday to Whitney Houston!

With today marking Whitney Houston's birthday, news spread around that an album from the late singer is due out this fall.

According to Billboard, the as yet untitled set will be “hits compilation” - the first collection to span her entire career and the first include the traditional versions of her biggest Billboard smashes.

"Whitney: The Greatest Hits"
(Released: 2000)
Even though ‘Whitney: The Greatest Hits’ was released in 2000 – and included many of Whitney's hits, the U.S. version of the 36-track set traded familiar versions of tracks such as ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ and ‘So Emotional’ for Dance mixes.

The new hits compilition will include more songs with material from the star’s final album, 2009′s Platinum seller ‘I Look To You’.

Whitney is currently charting this week on Billboard's tallies as a featured player on the soundtrack to her final film, "Sparkle."

The album debuts at No. 26 on the Billboard 200, selling 12,000 copies in its first week. It includes two cuts by Houston: "Celebrate" (a duet with her co-star Jordin Sparks) and a cover of "His Eye Is On the Sparrow."
