With the addition of the two newest American Idol judges, rapper Nicki Minaj and country star Keith Urban joining Mariah Carey and veteran judge Randy Jackson, many have speculated that the two female judges were feuding. Rumor had it that Mariah wasn't too pleased with the addition of Nicki joining the judges panel because she thought she was going to be the only female judge.

Well, MTV recently chatted with Mariah on the Idol set at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts on Monday (September 17) and they report the judges were all smiles.

Mariah said, "How are we gonna feud in two days? A feud takes a little longer to spread out [than that]," Mariah responded, laughing, when asked if she and the YMCMB rapper were seeing eye-to-eye, according to MTV.

"It's fun, it's music, it's singing, it's laughter," she added, while Minaj chuckled along with her, looking amused at the beef rumors.

According to the Daily News, Nicki said she plans to judge the contestants harshly.

"I would love to be able to tell the contestants honestly and truthfully what they can really expect," Nicki said.

"Sometimes you got to tell people, 'hey, you really might not want to get in this,'" she added. "There's a reason why it's called a business because it takes a lot of tenacity, and all those other things that a lot of people don't have."

"I think that's a part of what I bring... just being part of the now moment in pop culture and being able to share it with people who want to do it now. Having realized that sometimes you're going to get ripped apart," Nicki said.

American Idol's 12th season is set to premiere in January 2013 on FOX. Will you be watching with the addition of these new famous faces?
