Lifetime Releases First Trailer of Whitney Houston Biopic Starring Yaya DaCosta

After a lot of negative reviews about Lifetime's Aaliyah movie, many people are on the fence about this Whitney Houston biopic... but, let me tell you... the trailer actually looks GOOD and I'm excited to watch this!

And, let's not forget... Angela Bassett is producing this movie AND she actually knew Whitney (unlike Wendy Williams and Aaliyah).

Yes, there are those issues of Whitney's voice not being used throughout the movie because of Whitney's family not approving of the film. Instead, Deborah Cox's voice will be used for all of Whitney's songs.

Pat Houston, Whitney's former manager and sister-in-law, told TMZ in May that "Whitney is certainly worthy of more than a television movie, and if she were here today, this would not be happening."

America's Next Top Model Cycle 3 runner-up and Take the Lead actress Yaya DaCosta stars as the legendary Whitney Houston. The film chronicles the ups and downs of Whitney's life, from her rise to fame to her addiction problem and marriage to Bobby Brown.

Let's give the movie a try!

Whitney premieres Jan. 17th at 8 p.m. Check out the trailer below!

Go 'head Yaya!
