NEW MUSIC: Kendrick Lamar "The Blacker The Berry," Touches on Racial Profiling, Trayvon Martin and Gang Violence

Kendrick Lamar has released his new single "The Blacker the Berry" which has the internet buzzing. He starts off the song rapping, “I’m the biggest hypocrite of 2015…”

Following up with his powerful track and Grammy-winning song "i," "The Blacker the Berry" touches on the murder of Trayvon Martin, gang violence, and Kendrick's frustration with the current racial climate in America and around the world.

Last month, Kendrick made comments about Ferguson in an interview with Billboard magazine, saying:

"I wish somebody would look in our neighborhood knowing that it's already a situation, mentally, where it's f---ed up. What happened to [Michael Brown] should've never happened. Never. But when we don't have respect for ourselves, how do we expect them to respect us? It starts from within. Don't start with just a rally, don't start from looting -- it starts from within."

This statement caused some to criticize him, including rapper Azealia Banks who said it was the dumbest sh*t she's ever heard a black man say. (read more on that here).

"The Blacker the Berry" references racial profiling to even black stereotypes about watermelon and Kool-Aid.

At the end of the song, Kendrick raps:

“So why did I weep when Trayvon Martin was in the street?
When gang banging make me kill a ni**a blacker than me?”
