After Nick Cannon - I guess jokingly - said Fox's American Idol couldn't afford the all mighty high diva Mariah Carey, rumor now has it that Idol is close to signing her!
After previous judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez left Idol, there is room for two more judging seats. Now according to Deadline, Mariah is negotiating for her Idol seat and may possibly make a salary of $17 million for the next season, beating out JLo's supposed $15 million in her first season.
If Mariah lands the spot as an American Idol judge, I'll be watching everyday! Good move Idol, I hope this news is true.
