These Lashes Are Real! My Simple Beauty Tips. Make Your Eyes Pop, Spending $20 or Less

I constantly always get asked, "are those fake?" when it comes to my eyelashes and people seem amazed when I tell them they are real.

The follow up question then is, "what kind of mascara do you use?" So I figured I would write a blog post revealing my simple facial beauty tips.

I'm not a big makeup or fashion person but I always make sure my eyes are done. I'm huge on mascara, the eyes are very important. They're the first thing I look at when talking to a person.

If I don't have my eyes done I feel like I look sleepy in the face. When my eyes are done I have that extra sparkle.

I've learned don't get comfortable with just one brand of makeup until you have dabbled in a variety of different kinds. Then narrow it down to what works for you.

For me, price matters as well. I used to use MAC cosmetics but that makeup is too pricey for my pockets.

What I use on my face before heading out for the day...

Mascara/ Eye Brow Pencil
  • I'm a big fan of the Revelon Fabulash mascara line.
  • Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara from Revlon.Waterproof, Blackest Black. $5.99 - $7.99.
  • Fill in those brows to have a define look with Maybelline Expert Wear. Velvet Black (two pencils in a pack). Gives a soft, natural look. My eyebrows don't look over dramatic and drawn on. $3.49.
  • These items can be purchased at any Target, Rite Aid, CVS, any local drug store.
  • I like to go crazy and buy makeup when the local drug stores have those 'buy one get one 50% off' sales.

Eye Shadow
  • I received mark. and Clinique makeup as Christmas presents:
  • mark., Super Flip Color Kit (pictured right) used on the lid of the eye. This compact is very cool; has a mirror and a variety of colored eye shadow and when you flip it over, there is a variety of lip gloss colors (pictured on the bottom). Can be purchased through Avon.
  • Clinique, (pictured left) used to fill in right under the eyebrow. Victorian Pink. This can be purchased at Macy's which will probably run you a good $15 to $20. <<< Very pricey!

mark. Lip gloss on the other side
  • Now me personally, I wouldn't buy Clinique, too expensive. I usually wear Cover Girl Eye Enhancers, preferably the Golden Sunset palette which can be purchased at any local drug store, $3 to $5.

Lip gloss
  • For my skin tone I like the natural looking browns, golds and pinks, nothing overly dramatic on my lips, red is out. I like the Revlon Super Lustrous. Peach Petal. $5 to $6. This also doesn't give me that nasty white line that forms on the lip after a long day of wearing it.

So in conclusion: Revlon mascara, Maybelline eyebrow pencil, Cover Girl Eye Shadow and Revlon lip gloss = around $15 to $20! That is not bad at all.
