Mariah Carey Says She Felt "Unsafe" Around Nicki Minaj During Barbara Walters Interview

Mariah Carey sat down with Barbara Walters on Nightline and discussed her and Nicki Minaj's very public feud that happened on the show. Mariah said she increased security because she felt "unsafe."

As you may remember, back in October of last year, Nicki was heard threatening Mariah during the Idol auditions process.

"It felt like an unsafe work environment," Mariah said. "Anytime anybody's reeling threats at somebody, you know, it's not appropriate. I'm a professional. I'm not used to that type of environment."

When Mariah was asked whether she feels that lyrics in Nicki's song about American Idol "Hell Yeah" were shots fired at her (in the song Nicki raps "... I'm quick to the check a b*tch if she outta line" ... is Mariah "that b*tch?)

"Don't know. Don't know what she's saying. I didn't know she sang. I thought she rapped uh, whatever," Mariah said.

Lol! "Uh, whatever!" Ha! I love Mariah!

"I think it's a classic, classy show and it didn't need this," Mariah said about American Idol.

Mariah said she put the feud to rest and she made up with Nicki. "For me ultimately, this is about the kids, the contestants," she said.

Mariah is just focused on the safety of herself and her family, she doesn't have time for the drama! Be sure to check out Mariah on season 12 of American Idol, which airs on Fox starting January 16th. I'll be watching this season!!
