Anticipated 2011 Movie Sequels

1. The Hangover 2 Variety later reported in July 2009, that production on The Hangover 2 will begin in October 2010, for a fourth of July weekend 2011 release, following the same production schedule used for the first film. Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Heather Graham and Justin Bartha have all signed on for the sequel.

2. Underworld 4 Revolves around a centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires and their one-time werewolf slaves, the Lycans. Stars Kate Beckinsale, in theaters September 23, 2011

3. Mission: Impossible IV The fourth installment of the moneymaking "Mission" franchise, based on the 1960s TV series, has been in the works for a while but gained traction in February 2010 when Tom Cruise officially made it his next starring gig. In Theaters: December 16, 2011

4. 5nal Destination 3D The fifth installment of the franchise in which teens escape a deadly accident only to later discover that death is hunting them down. The opening scene will involve a suspension bridge and another scene reportedly involves a character undergoing laser-eye surgery.

5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II The end begins as Harry, Ron, and Hermione go back to Hogwarts to find and destroy Voldemorts final horcruxes, but when Voldemort finds out about their mission, the biggest battle begins and life as they know it will never be the same again. July 15, 2011.

6. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Johnny Depp is returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth film in the popular "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. The new film will be loosely based on the Tim Powers book, "On Stranger Tides." Geoffrey Rush is back as Barbossa and Ian McShane will play the villain Blackbeard. Penelope Cruz is portraying the daughter of Blackbeard. Romance reportedly swirls between Captain Jack Sparrow and Penelope Cruz's character. Similarly, it's expected Captain Jack Sparrow and Barbossa meet up in the newly founded New Orleans, before they sail to find the Fountain of Youth together.

7. Scream 4 "Scream 4" sees the return of the three main characters, along with a group of new stars. Said to jump-start a proposed new trilogy of the franchise.

8. A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, who wrote "Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle" and "Harold & Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay" and directed the latter, will return to write and direct the third installment, which will have a Christmas theme. In Movie Theaters: December 23, 2011.

9. Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom A sequel to the 2008 animated hit centered on Po (Jack Black) a kung fu obsessed Panda and his friends known as the Furious Five -- Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey. In Movie Theaters: May 27, 2011.

10. Transformers 3 A darker more introspective journey into the Transformers universe and their origins on Cybertron. There is also preview footage of the possibility of Unicron, the planet eater, in this sequel. In Movie Theaters: July 1, 2011

11. Alvin and the Chipmunks 3-D More adventures with Alvin and the Chimpunks. And this time in 3-D.

12. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn . In Movie Theaters: November 18, 2011.

13. Happy Feet 2 in 3-D The story centers on Mumble, a penguin who can't sing but can dance, and Ramon, a hyper-active and wise-cracking penguin. In Movie Theaters: November 18, 2011.


-Also look out for The Ring 3D, Strangers 2, Spiderman 4 in 2012, Scary movie 5, Transformers 3 and there is also talk about making Avater 2 in the future.
