I rate this comedy 3 1/2 stars |
I was supposed to see Big Momma's House last night but I saw this movie instead. Hall Pass got some negative feedback when it first came out on February 25th but I think it's a must see.
Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) star in this crazy comedy and are best friends who have sex and woman issues. Both are married but they tend to check out other women, dream about other women, constantly talk about other women and their younger days of when they used to get all the girls.
The pissed-off wives in the front seat, while the husbands ride scared in the back |
Rick's wife, Maggie (Jenna Fischer) and Fred's wife, Grace, (Christina Applegate) spill issues about their husbands and are given the idea of giving the men a "hall pass."
This hall pass was intended for the men to have one week off from marriage to do whatever they want and to get it out their system before coming back to their wives.
From the jump I knew this would be a bad idea. I don't think any woman should let their man do whatever with no consequences.
"This woman surrounds herself with less attractive women to make herself look like a 10" - this is being said as the men are checking out chicks |
The men are ecstatic to hear their wives giving them this hall pass and take it as the chance to sleep with hot chicks of course.
Well things don't go quite as planned with the men and it's the wives who actually party and have the better time.
Towards the end of course they all realize they miss their significant other, but do they all go back into the marriage?
I don't want to give anymore away if you haven't seen it yet. But if you like movies like Couples Retreat with Vince Vaughn or the new movie with Adam Sandler, Just Go With It then you'll love this family comedy. But don't bring the kids. This is a type of sexual humor and there are nude scenes as well.
