Mariah Carey Reveals the Twins Names, Naming One After a Room

Mariah Carey gave birth to twins this past weekend and  in a tweet to fans, a representative for the singer writes:

 "Mariah & Nick reveal the names of #dembabies Monroe Cannon & Moroccan Scott Cannon!"

The couple has used social networking to give a play-by-play of their pregnancy. Mariah was tweeting hints yesterday on Twitter as to what the names would be saying they start with 'M' and the buzz started as people were trying to guess what the names would be.

 

According to Mariah's website, the baby boy's first name comes from the top tier of the singer's New York apartment, called the "Moroccan Room" for its Moroccan-themed decor. It's also where the couple got engaged.

Their daughter's name is inspired by Marilyn Monroe. Carey's rep said that the late actress has "been an inspiration to Mariah her whole life."

Monroe does not have a middle name because Carey herself does not have one. I'm still waiting for pics of the twins to pop up! I really like the name Monroe, I think that's cute, I don't know about the name Moroccan. What do you think about Mariah and Nick's choice of names for their twins?
