According to thatgrapejuice.net, "with proceeds from the statue in aid of several charitable causes, which includes supporting victims of Hurricane Katrina, the monument will be erected by Armdeonce Ventures, in partnership with the city which was once home to Knowles and her family."
"Each of the project’s sponsors and donors will receive an invitation its unveiling ceremony, which the star herself is reported to attend."
The backers of this plan are looking to have it up possibly by September 4th of this year, which will be the singers 31st birthday. So we'll see what happens.
