Nicki defended her performance and said she was forced to put together "Roman Holiday." In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, Nicki spoke on her alter ego, Roman and said:

"It's the most comfortable I have been on stage in my entire life... because, first of all, the Grammys chose 'Roman Holiday'... and I could not play them another record after they heard that."

It was even said that Nicki Minaj and Laurieann put together the Grammy performance to receive attention and now Laurieann is speaking out about the controversial comments:

"To be honest, no, we didn't do anything for controversy," Laurieann told Rolling Stone. "We never had that conversation at all. Nicki just truly wanted Roman to be exorcised, and I just went to work."
"I personally chose to stay away from any religious moves... The bishop was a symbolic figurehead. He was not [intended] in a negative light, but in a position of authority. As far as the theatrical and dramatic performance, it’s entertainment."
What do you think? Did these ladies take "Roman Holiday" too far?

  1. MMMMM I actually thought it was a great performance. It was entertaining. People are always going to be offended sooooo oh well. Just like Passion of the Christ brought controversy. Also all of the tv shows, including cartoons that mock religions. I mean if you get mad at everything like that, you'd always be made lol. I honestly have too many other things in life to worry about. Churches need to refocus on whats important lol.
