WTF Wednesdays: 17-year-old Rushed to Hospital, Never Ate Fruit or Vegetables, Just Nuggets

I saw this story via yahoo and it made me say WTF for two reasons. But first, read on...

"This week 17-year-old British factory worker Stacey Irvine was rushed to the hospital when she collapsed, struggling to breathe. During the exam, doctors were stunned to learn that Ms. Irvine had never in her life eaten fruit or vegetables; instead she had eaten almost nothing but fast-food chicken nuggets since she was two years old."

"Her mother, Evonne Irvine, told reporters she had gone to great lengths to try to feed her daughter more nutritious food, at one point even trying to starve the girl, but it hadn’t worked. Stacey responded that, once she started eating nuggets, she “loved them so much they were all I would eat."

*** Read the rest of the story HERE to find out what happened to the girl.

#1)  Why would you do this to yourself. I understand at two-years-old you don't know any better, but now this girl is 17 and she should know that is not healthy. Anything 'McDonald's' is not healthy. There is no surprise here when bad health comes along.

#2)  WTF is wrong with the mother? She even tried starving her daughter and nothing worked? Lets not forget who the kid is and who the parent is.

As the parent you better find some creative ways to MAKE your child eat more nutritious food. I'll be damned if my child refused. This is your kid's health we're talking about. As a parent, you shouldn't give in and just let the kid eat whatever they want.

  1. They are both idiots. I bet you she still won't eat healthy after this either! I would scare my child into eating healthy if it came down to it. Take her to visit some unhealthy about to die scary looking people!

    1. Word! I woulda just beat her until she ate lol

    2. LOL! What if she still wouldn't eat it? I think fear is a great motivator when left with no choice lol.

    3. Then I would personally have to force my hands and that food down her throat lol
