Motivation Monday's: "In the End, We Only Regret The Chances We Didn't Take"

Good morning, everyone! T.G.I.M!

Today is a good day to have a good day 😀 and don't forget anything is possible as long as you work hard and stay determined.

#MyAdviceForYoungJournalists trended on Twitter a week ago and this made me think of my past jobs, where I started and where I am today.

Journalism is a tough field and I remember graduating from college at a time when newsrooms were laying off the majority of their staff, so it's tough at there. There's also this thing with bloggers not being considered "real journalists" and so forth.

I say, don't get discouraged. There may be people telling you journalism is not a field you want to pursue, parts of it are dying or this field doesn't pay... this is not even just in journalism. Maybe there's someone who doesn't agree with your career choice, and that's okay. If you're truly passionate and put your time in, it'll pay off.

Follow your dreams and do what makes you happy. I've been blessed to have been on the radio, published articles in newspapers and online, and now I'm building up my blog again. I got laid off from my copy writer job last year and after losing my job (which actually turned out to be a good thing) I appeared on TV.

So never give up and keep pushing, even when you hear 'No' or when others fail to believe in you.

Like LL Cool J said at the Grammy's two weeks ago, "dreams don't have deadlines, believe in yourself!"
