TV Recap: Bruce Jenner Says He's a Woman, Identifies as Asexual + What His Family Thinks

Bruce Jenner's highly anticipated interview with Diane Sawyer aired Friday evening on ABC. 

There's so much to cover about the Olympic gold medalist as he now opens up as being a woman, and social media is blowing up over the two hour exclusive.

Bruce said he can't live like this any longer so here comes his moment of truth so the world knows.

"Here I am stuck. I hate the 'girl stuck in a guy's body.' My brain is much more female than it is male."

Diane said this will be the last time we refer to Bruce Jenner as Bruce. He now describes himself as asexual and he just wants the public to have an open mind and an open heart. Bruce just wants to blend in.

"They're going to say i'm doing this for publicity...for a show," Bruce said. "But what I'm doing is going to do some good. It's going to change the world."

Bruce spoke about his time as an Olympian and said, "I see a confused person at the time, running away from my life, running away from who I was."

OMG Moments:

• Bruce Jenner has been dealing with gender identity issues for quite some time now. He is now 65 years old and at 8 years old, he admitted to trying on his sister's dress because it made him feel good. 

• Bruce didn't hide his gender identity issues from his past wives like I thought. Bruce told his first wife and she thought she could fix him! 

• Kris Jenner (Kim Kardashian's momma) also knew from the jump that Bruce was taking hormones. Kris even saw him in a women's clothing. It seems like Kris accepted him in the beginning and as years passed by, she stopped supporting his decision to fully be a woman. If she stuck by him and supported him fully, Bruce said they would still be together. 

• He admits he began hormone therapy in the '80s and has been transitioning for awhile. 

• Bruce said he had appeared in more than 400 episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians over almost eight years. He said his secret had eaten away at him all that time. “The one real true story in the family was the one I was hiding, and nobody knew about it,” he said. “The one thing that could really make a difference in people’s lives was right here in my soul, and I could not tell that story.”

Kris Jenner clapped back at celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton while the interview was airing, and she said she was watching it with Bruce!

What Does Bruce's Children Think

Bruce admits he was terrified to tell his children, "I can't let myself hurt them."

Bruce has six biological children, and ten all together including Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian. The first person Bruce told was his son, Brandon. 

Brandon said he has never been more proud of his dad, "Obviously there are parts of it that aren't necessarily easy, i'm just doing my best to cope with what's going on. When I see my dad as a woman, it might be a little shocking at first."

Bruce's three older children showed up for the interview special.  Brody said, "I thought, 'It finally all makes sense.'" 

His daughter Casey said, "What do you want us to call you? You can call me dad. I will always be your dad." 

Bruce's other biological son, Burt admitted he once ran out of a junior high sex-ed class because they brought up gender identity. It reminded him of his dad's struggle and therefore freaked him out.

Support from Khloe Kardashian and Lady Gaga as Bruce's interview aired

Kim Kardashian was the first person to know about Bruce's transition because she caught him dressing as a woman. 

Bruce said, "It was like a big secret in the family that we never talked about again." 

Kanye also told his wife Kim, "I can be married to the most beautiful woman in the world, I can have the most beautiful daughter in the world, but I'm nothing if I can't be me."

Bruce says "Kimberly" has been the most accepting. The reality star even told Bruce, "Girl you have to rock it baby. You have to look really good."

Kendall also caught Bruce dressing as a woman but they never talked about it. When Bruce told all the Kardashian's as well as Kendall and Kylie, they all cried, even Rob.

Kendall and Kylie said, "We love our dad very much. he has the biggest heart. if he's happy, we're happy."

Khloe has had the toughest time with Bruce's transition. 

"Khloe's had the toughest time with it because she's had a lot of losses in her life. She lost her father at a young age and Lamar had his issues."

Kourtney is having some issues because of her three young children.

What does the future hold for Bruce?

Well, pretty soon Bruce won't be his name. He said he will not be revealing his name at the moment because the media will go crazy. He also plans on finishing his complete transformation as a woman. 

Bruce has a closet full of dresses, and he said his new house will have a glam room. He also wants to have his nail polish on long enough before it chips off. 

Bruce said he's not gay, he's never been with a guy. He just wants to have a free soul, enjoy life and be surrounded by a lot of great friends.

I can't even imagine waiting that long to finally be comfortable with yourself. I commend Bruce on his bravery because he didn't have to do this interview.
