Cardi B wins her first Grammy, becomes first solo female rapper to win 'Best Rap Album'

Cardi B has made Grammy moves!

After slaying her burlesque-inspired performance for her hit “Money,” Cardi B was awarded "Best Rap Album" for her debut 2018 album, Invasion of Privacy, her first Grammy win, beating out Nipsey Hussle, Pusha T, Travis Scott, and a posthumous nomination for Mac Miller.

Cardi is the first solo woman to ever receive the award. The first woman to ever win the award was Lauryn Hill, as part of the Fugees, in 1997.

The Bronx rapper also joins a short list of women who were nominated: Eve, Missy Elliott, Nicky Minaj, Iggy Azalea, and others.

Cardi gave a heartfelt acceptance speech, describing the challenges of finishing her record while pregnant.
