Monday Madness-Prepare for the Rising Cost of Tolls

The lovely backup at 13A
I take pictures when I'm stuck in traffic

To get from my house to my job taking the Turnpike means I would pay $3.30 one way. This price was absurd to me so of course I found a cheaper way, the Parkway which comes to $1.00 one way. My other job costs 80 cents one way. This may sound cheap but add up for both ways every week and I've spent a lot of money on tolls alone, then the gas that it takes to get to work.

I'm always trying to figure out a cheap way to get somewhere by taking alternate routes when in reality there is no cheap way.

If I take 1 and 9 somewhere I won't have to pay tolls but that way takes twice as long to get somewhere plus with all the lights it's more annoying. Taking shortcuts throughout local streets take twice as long as well and then I'll just burn more gas in the long run.

So this is a situation in which I just can't win. Sounds familiar?

I know I am not the only one out there complaining about these toll prices and now there will be toll hikes hitting us soon! Ughhhh!

When I was 16 I couldn't wait to drive. I would drive around wasting gas because it was cheap. Nowadays I don't drive around for the hell of it and driving really gets on my nerves.

Comments

  1. I hate driving and I hate paying for stuff while driving or paying for stuff because I have to drive. If I didn't have a car, I'd be rich.

  2. Same here. Paying off my car took a lot of my money over the years.
