Kobe Bryant Fined for Homophobic Slur, NBA Playoffs & My Prediction of the Finals

The Lakers star was hit with a $100,000 fine yesterday for the homophobic slur he directed at a referee Tuesday night when receiving a technical foul.

Being the hot head Kobe is of course he got upset. He sat on the bench and the camerca caught his mouth saying, "f*cking faggot."

He then issued an apology Wednesday night for what he said, "What I said last night should not be taken literally," according to FOX News.

"My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone," according to FOX News.

Do you think getting fined $100,000 was the right punishment for Kobe?

Love him or hate him, the back-to-back champions won their last regular season game against the Kings last night and with a record of 57-25, the Lakers are #2 in the Western Conference falling behind the Spurs who are #1 and the Lakers look forward to crushing the playoffs, winning the finals and making it a 3-peat.

The playoffs start on Saturday and 16 teams will face off in a battle to the finals. I'm keeping my eye on the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference and in the Western Conference, Oklahoma City. Boston Celtics and New York Knicks will be an interesting matchup but I believe the Celtics will take them.

My NBA Finals prediction: Lakers vs. Bulls: Lakers win in 7 games.

The Lakers face the New Orleans Hornets April 17 for their first round in the playoffs. This should be a piece of cake being that the Lakers beat them 4-0 in the regular season and the Lakers have home court advantage.
