George Zimmerman Released From Jail on $150,000 Bail

Although I haven't posted much about the Trayvon Martin case, I have been keeping up with this story throughout all the local protests, the 911 call and also from George Zimmerman's lawyers quitting to even Zimmerman launching a website and comedian Roseanne Barr tweeting Zimmerman's parents home address.

A couple of thoughts...

More and more pieces to this story keep unfolding and I'm just appalled at the fact that it took this long for Zimmerman to be arrested and have a court hearing when he shot Trayvon back in February!

For this long Zimmerman walked freely and went M.I.A before turning himself in a couple of weeks ago. There is something truly wrong with our justice system and the "Stand Your Ground" law seriously needs to be reevaluated.

The latest news...

George Zimmerman - the Hispanic-white Florida neighborhood watchman man accused of shooting and killing Trayvon Martin, a black 17-year-old who was unarmed - has recently been released from a Florida jail.

According to the Huffington Post, Zimmerman was released from jail around midnight on Sunday (April 22) on $150,000 bail.

Zimmerman had to put up 10 percent, or $15,000 to make bail. His father indicated possibly taking out a second mortgage.

This case has sparked national attention and Zimmerman now awaits his second-degree murder charge for fatally shooting Trayvon.
