Lady Gaga is Catching A lot of Slack Over a Tweet

Pop star Lady Gaga posted the hash tag #PopSingersDontEat four days ago on her Twitter account and all hell is breaking loose.

"Just killed back to back spin classes. Eating a salad dreaming of a cheeseburger #PopSingersDontEat #IWasBornThisWay," the April 10th tweet said.

Gaga has over 20 million followers, and a lot of her followers took her hash tag comment as a way of encouraging fans to avoid eating in order to become thin. After Gaga's comment, tweets flooded in saying she is sending the wrong message.

Gaga herself admitted earlier this year from suffering from bulimia as a student and has made statements on how people need to stop obsessing with dieting and being thin. Now critics are saying Gaga's recent Twitter remark comes across as hypocritical.

Besides some of Gaga's fans speaking out, now some organizations are questioning Gaga's tweet.

According to Reuters, a separate blog post on proud2beme.org, which is affiliated with the National Eating Disorders Association, said "If it was meant to be a joke, there are plenty of people who aren't finding it so funny."

Gaga has yet to speak out on the criticism or address the backlash of her hash tag on Twitter.
