Drake Returns to High School and Delivers Speech (Video)

Drake returned to high school to get the diploma that he's never received after he dropped out of Toronto's Jarvis Collegiate Institute at 15-years-old to star in the TV show Degrassi: The Next Generation

To mark the occasion, Drake delivered a speech at the Toronto Institute and his speech went viral this past weekend.

"It's not necessarily about the books that you'll read or the science or math equations that you'll do, because you may end up taking a path in life where a lot of the things that you'll learn you can't necessarily fully apply." Drake said during his graduation speech.

"What this is about today, for all of you is about the art of following through."

Drake said to the crowd, "I reached a point in my life where I realized that there aren't material things that can give me the excitement that I'm looking for. There's a void, a gap in my life that I needed to fill," he said. "It was the fact that I had left a gaping whole in my story following through."

Drake dedicated his diploma to his mother and said, "This piece of paper I'd like to dedicated to my mother, because she's a retired teacher and always wanted me to graduate."

"I think I'll sleep a little better tonight knowing that I found a way to follow through."

On Oct. 17, Drake tweeted:

"One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school."
