WATCH: BET's 'The Game' Celebrates 100th Episode, Season 6 Premiere

The Game is back on our television screens! Last night was the one hour premiere of season 6 and it was a hard show for me to watch because this is Derwin's (Pooch Hall) goodbye episode.

Watch the full episode below!

While watching last nights premiere, I missed Derwin and Melanie and realized this show will never be the same again. Tia Mowry-Hardrict chose to depart last year so they wrote her character Melanie off the show.

Melanie decides to resume her work at Johns Hopkins so she can become a full-fledged doctor. Last season, Derwin was against this, and now he seems fine with her decision.
Will The Game still be good
without Derwin and Melanie on the show?
Since there is no Melanie, there is no need to have Derwin. He gets traded to the Baltimore team so he'll be near Melanie. We're not sure if Melanie will pop up at all this season but I would love to see her make an appearance as well as Kelly (Brittany Daniel) who disappeared in season 4.

This season includes two new charaters: Lauren London and Jay Ellis who basically replace Derwin and Melanie. Lauren plays a former child star trying to revive her career. Ellis plays a new wide receiver who graduated from Stanford and he is the Sabers new draft pick.
Ellis also gets into a physical altercation with a drunken Derwin. It's hard for Derwin to accept the fact that he will no longer be a Saber and he feels betrayed by the team. Derwin takes his anger out on the rookie, thinking he stole his position and when the rookie sets Derwin straight, fists are thrown.

Jason (Coby Bell) is still a broadcast sports reporter who realizes others take his journalism career as a joke.

He comments about Derwin's trade and says, "will take some getting used to. We're going to miss them a lot but we're looking foward to Lauren and Jay. We have their backs. Our jobs right now is to make them feel comfortable."

Jason is also still with Chardonnay (Brandy), the new Ms. Pitts. And, she's wearing all the designer fashions. I guess Jason learned not to be as cheap as he was with Kelly.

Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) is still crazy Tasha Mack and she is in love and dating Pookie. All is good but Rick Fox (Tasha's ex) keeps calling her. After several accidental missed phone calls, Tasha finally decides to call Rick back and gets his voicemail.

As she is leaving Rick a message to explain that she's over him, there is a knock at her door and of course it's Rick! So now we're left thinking, will Rick and Tasha rekindle their relationship or is Tasha and Pookie's new love strong enough to resist Tasha's temptation for Rick whom she was crazy over before.

And then there is Tasha's son, Malik Wright (Hosea Chanchez). Last season was a hard season for Malik. He was trying to be a relationship man while dating Jenna Rice, get his football career back on track, get his money together and Malik was battling drinking problems in A.A.

Well after Jenna spit in Malik's face last season, that was pretty much a wrap for their relationship and now Malik is back to his old ways... spending money, partying, being involved with different women and drinking.

Malik's friend Tee-Tee (Barry Floyd) is back this season and he tries to help his friend out. Towards the end of the episode, Tee-Tee tells Malik he has a drinking problem and convinces him to return to his A.A. meetings.

Aside from all of that, Michael Beach returned as the Saber's owner. William Allen Young made an appearance as the rookie's father (side fun fact: William played Frank Mitchell, Brandy's father in Moesha) and Ciara made an appearance on the premiere episode as Lauren's friend and she slept with the rookie on draft night.
