Petition Started to Revoke Iggy Azealia's Billboard Music Award For 'Top Rap Artist'

Wow! There are over 12,000 signatures to have Iggy Azealia's Billboard award revoked!

A petition on change.org has been put into effect which reads: Iggy's song "Fancy" which won 'Top Rap Song' was released before Billboard's eligibility period for nominations.

"'Fancy was released on February 17th, 2014, nearly a month before the eligibility starting. This is unfair to the other nominees in these category, especially to "Anaconda" by Nicki Minaj, who most likely would've won."

"Billboard did not follow their own guidelines and should have to recalculate these nominations without 'Fancy' as a nominee."

But, the BMAs are based on Nielsen sales data and chart performance, not the song's release date. They used a "reporting period" of March 10, 2014 through March 8, 2015, not a release date.

According to various reports, the production company behind the event, Dick Clark Productions, has also confirmed that Azalea won the prize fair and square.
