DMX (real name Earl Simmons) was rushed to a local hospital Monday night (Feb. 9) after collapsing in a New York hotel parking lot.
The 45-year-old rapper was found lifeless, according to multiple reports, and he was not breathing. He had to be resuscitated and is now recovering in a local hospital.
Reports state DMX suffered from an asthma attach but there is also speculation that he collapsed from a drug overdose. However, there were no drugs at the scene and no criminal charges were filed.
DMX's friend and Ruff Ryders' partner Swizz Beatz tweeted out to fans earlier and said the rapper is dong better and is in great spirits:
