Updated! T.I. arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness near his Georgia home

*UPDATE: T.I. was adamant he didn't deserve to be arrested for an incident with the security guard at his gated community (story below) because he was just trying to ask the guy some questions, according to security footage from the jail.

T.I. claims it's his right as a homeowner in the community to question the security guard working the gate, TMZ reports.

ORIGINAL REPORT: T.I. was arrested early Wednesday in Henry County, Georgia, outside Atlanta, according to authorities.

The rapper, whose legal name is Clifford Harris Jr., was arrested outside the gated community where he resides.

T.I. was cited on misdemeanor charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness after an alleged incident about 4 a.m. in Stockbridge, south of Atlanta, according to CNN.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, T.I. did not have his key and argued with a guard, who refused to let him in.

T.I. told The Blast the guard on duty was sleeping when he returned home early Wednesday morning from the recording studio; the rapper said the guard “antagonized” him and there was a “very heated debate” but slammed reports that there was an assault, adding the guard “may have been hurt by my words” but that things did not get physical between them.

T.I. has since posted bond.
