NBA Star Jason Kidd Arrested for Drunk Driving

The newly signed New York Knicks Jason Kidd is facing a drunken driving charge after crashing his Cadillac Escalade, according to news reports.

The 39-year-old was arrested and charged with a DWI after his vehicle hit a utility pole in the Hamptons earlier today (June 15).

Kidd was alone in his vehicle when it crashed a little before 2 a.m. after attending a benefit hosted at an East Hampton estate by singer Ne-Yo's Compound Foundation to honor movie director George Lucas, according to Newsday.

The Daily News reports that witnesses said Kidd was partying all night, boozed-up and wasted. According to reports, after the crash he refused to take a breathalyzer test and was treated at a hospital for minor injuries before being processed at the police station.

Kidd is a 2011 NBA champion with his former team the Dallas Mavericks. Just four days before his foolishness, he signed a three-year $9.5 million deal to be a point guard with the Knicks.

What an irresponsible night of partying.
