Basketball Wives L.A.: Complete Cast & What Does Shaunie Think About the New Ladies?

VH1 is expanding their Basketball Wives franchise with a whole new cast in the upcoming spin off show Basketball Wives L.A. which doesn't include all wives, go figure.

"Elbow throwing, trash talking and in-your-face action: forget the NBA, we’re talking about their wives! The successful VH1 franchise “Basketball Wives” just tapped a new team of leading ladies to take Los Angeles by storm on VH1’s “Basketball Wives LA” premiering Monday, August 29 at 8PM ET/PT. “Basketball Wives LA” introduces a group of dynamic women with relationships to some of the biggest basketball players in the game." - according VH1's blog.

Shaunie O'Neal, executive producer and cast member of VH1's current Basketball Wives, expressed how she wasn't fully on board with the way Basketball Wives is portrayed. She said that she gets a lot of flack with people saying her show portrays black women in a negative way.

Shaunie commented about the L.A. cast of Basketball Wives and said to ebonyjet.com“The L.A. cast — there are some wives and fiancés, which I’m fine with. But there’s a little bit of trash kind of sprinkled into that cast that I’m totally against. I was really very hands off with that cast.”

Gloria and Los Angeles Lakers player, Matt Barnes
Well, Gloria Govan, Matt Barnes fiance, is back. You may remember her from Basketball Wives seasons 1 & 2. She had an unsettling beef with Shaunie which caused "The Circle" not to like her.

The beef was mainly over her sister, Laura, who was said to have slept with Shaunie's ex-husband, the recently retired NBA star, Shaquille O'Neal.

Laura will join her sister as part of the cast of Basketball Wives L.A.  Other cast memebers include; Malaysia Pargo, wife of Chicago’s Jannero Pargo, Draya Michele, an alleged former stripper who also has a history of dating Chris Brown and many ball players, Imani Showalter, ex-fiancée to player Stephen Jackson, Kimsha Artest, the partner of Ron Artest, these two divorced and now it's rumored that they are re-marrying, and Jackie Christie, wife of retired player Doug Christie and she claims to have the strongest marriage in basketball.

The finale of Basketball Wives airs August 8. Basketball Wives L.A. will run for 10 episodes and premieres August 29th at 8 p.m.
